How to Improve the Econonmy with Facebook

Dear united states and nations of the world,

This is how you can improve your economy in 1 easy step. Its very simple

1. Shut down Facebook.

Calm down now you internet bugs and hear me out.

Im going to use the united states as a example since its a big powerful nation, that is in trouble and easy to pick on.

So continuing on, lets think about how many desk/office jobs there are in America. So there's like 301,139,947 people in the United States. Lets just say for fun, and fun only, that 20% of those people work jobs at which they have access to the internet on a regular basis.
So that's approx. 60,227,989 people. And lets say 50% of those people have a facebook account, myspace account, other social networking account (were not even talking about having several accounts, i personally have a myspace and facebook account). So that's about 30,113,994 people which is 3 million people less than the entire population of Canada.

According to the Toronto Star, workers at a media firm in toronto are spending "29.6 minutes a day on the site." This study was also done in 2007 and I think its safe to say these numbers have gone up. There was only 2 million users on the site at this time, and Facebook has recently surpassed 100 million users.

So lets go with the old statistic first and say 30 mins a day is spent on facebook. So thats about 15,056,997 hours wasted on facebook a day or 627,374 days OR 1,718 years.

So assuming 30 million americans use facebook at work for only 30 mins a day, then 1,718 years of time is wasted a day. If you work everyday in a year thats 627,070 years of time wasted every year.

So image if that time was spent actually working?
Productivy increase = cheaper products = more spending = more money flowing between people = a better economy and reversing a rescession

thats my 2 cents on it

sincerly
